Velugu Privacy Policy
Effective 14 September 2026
1. Who we are
Velugu is a game made by Night Jar Studios, a solo studio based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. You can reach us at velugu.feedback@gmail.com about anything in this policy.
2. What Velugu keeps on your phone
To remember your progress between runs, Velugu saves a small file in its own private storage on your device. It holds:
- your best scores (birds landed, and birds taken as the falcon)
- the awards you have earned on each level
- the dusk skies you have unlocked, and which one you chose
- whether sound and the tutorial are on or off
- which Daily Dusks you have flown in the last two weeks, and your best on each
- how many runs you have played, and whether you have been asked to rate the game in this version
This file never leaves your device. It is deleted when you uninstall Velugu or clear its data in Android's settings.
3. What we collect
Nothing, ourselves. Velugu has no analytics, no crash reporting of our own, and no servers of ours that receive anything. We do not know who you are or how you play.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Velugu shows ads through Google AdMob: an occasional full-screen ad between runs, and an optional rewarded ad you can choose to watch for "one more minute" of light. To serve, measure and protect those ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects and processes, on Google's behalf:
- your device's IP address, which may be used to estimate its general location
- how you interact with the app and its ads, such as app launches, taps and video views
- diagnostic information about the app's and the SDK's performance
- device identifiers: the Android advertising ID and app set ID
Google uses this for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and it is encrypted in transit. How Google uses information from apps that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and Google's own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices: in the European Economic Area, the UK and other places where the law requires it, Velugu shows Google's consent message before any ad is requested. In the European Economic Area and the UK, Velugu also treats every player as below the age of digital consent, so the ads there are not personalised. On any Android phone you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact menu varies by phone). Every ad is limited to content suitable for general audiences, including children.
Velugu needs internet access only for ads. The game itself plays offline.
5. Google Play
Velugu is distributed through Google Play. When you install or update it, Google processes information under the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy), not this one.
Google Play gives developers aggregated statistics, such as install counts, and crash and performance reports from devices whose owners have chosen to share usage and diagnostics with Google. We may look at these reports to fix problems. They do not tell us who you are.
6. If you join the test
While Velugu is in closed testing on Google Play, we keep a list of the Google account email addresses that are invited to the test, because Google Play requires one. We use that list only to give those accounts access to the test. If you send us feedback by email, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply and to improve the game. We do not share either with anyone. Ask us at any time and we will remove your address from the test list and delete your emails.
7. Children
Velugu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the ads it shows are limited to content suitable for general audiences.
8. Your choices
You can erase your progress at any time by clearing Velugu's storage in Android settings, or by uninstalling it. For advertising choices, see section 4. For anything else, email us.
9. Changes to this policy
If a future version of Velugu changes what is collected, for example by adding in-app purchases or online features, we will update this policy before that version is released, and change the date at the top.
