Mouna Privacy Policy

In short: Mouna is 100% offline. Your worries, voice notes, and statistics stay on your device. We do not collect, read, transmit, or sell your personal data.

1. Our Core Philosophy: Zero Data Harvesting

Mouna was built to be a safe, private sanctuary for your mind. We believe your thoughts, worries, and anxiety patterns belong strictly to you. We do not collect, read, transmit, or sell your personal journal entries or audio recordings.

2. How Your Data is Stored (100% Local)

  • Text & Voice Notes: Your journal entries, Time Vault data, and audio recordings are saved locally to your device’s internal storage. They are never uploaded to a cloud server or database owned by us.
  • Analytics & Progress: Your Resilience XP, Constellation progress, and jar statistics are calculated and stored locally on your device.
  • Biometric Security: If you enable Face ID, Fingerprint, or PIN lock within Mouna, the app relies purely on your device’s native OS security. We do not have access to your biometric data.

3. Permissions We Request

To provide Mouna’s core features, the app requires the following device permissions:

  • Microphone: Required exclusively to record voice notes for your worry jars. The audio files are saved locally on your device and are never transmitted over the internet.
  • Notifications: Used to remind you to check in and to alert you when a locked worry is ready to review. All notifications are scheduled and generated locally on your device. No notification content is sent to any server.

4. Third-Party Services (Mouna Pro)

While Mouna operates completely offline, we use secure, industry-standard third-party services exclusively to process in-app purchases for Mouna Pro.

  • RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage our premium entitlements and verify if you have purchased Mouna Pro. RevenueCat collects an anonymous App User ID, device type, OS version, country, and purchase timestamps to validate your purchase receipt with Google Play. They do not have access to your name, email, or any of your journal entries. (RevenueCat Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy)
  • Google Play Billing: Purchases are processed securely through Google Play. We do not collect or store your credit card information.

5. Data Deletion

Because your data is not stored on our servers, you have total control over it. You can permanently delete all your data (including text, audio, and statistics) at any time by simply uninstalling the Mouna app from your device.

Please note that because we do not use cloud backups, uninstalling the app will result in the permanent, unrecoverable loss of your journal entries.

6. Children's Privacy

Mouna does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13, as we do not collect any personal data to begin with.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date.
