Gadapa Privacy Policy

In force from 25 August 2026

In short: Gadapa keeps what you write on your own phone. There is no account and no sign-up. Nothing you log leaves your device unless you choose to invite family into a circle, and we ask you before that happens. We do not sell or share your information with anyone, and we do not show advertising.

1. The short version

Gadapa keeps what you write on your own phone. There is no account and no sign-up. Nothing you log leaves your device unless you choose to invite family into a circle, and we ask you before that happens. We do not sell or share your information with anyone, and we do not show advertising.

2. Who we are

Gadapa is made by Night Jar Studios, a solo studio based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. You can reach us at gadapa.feedback@gmail.com about anything in this policy, including a complaint.

3. What Gadapa stores on your phone

The name and relationship of the person you look after, and optionally their photo. The care you log, with the time and who logged it. Medicines you enter, with their doses and reminder times. Appointments, questions to ask, and notes on what happened. Anything you add to the Handover sheet, which may include age, blood group, conditions, allergies, doctor, insurance and emergency contacts. Voice notes and photos you attach.

All of this is stored in a database on your device. If you use Gadapa on your own, none of it is transmitted anywhere.

4. Information about another person

Most of what Gadapa holds is about the person you care for, who is usually not the one using the app. We take that seriously. Our approach is to keep the information on your own devices, to collect as little as possible, never to monetise it, and never to sell or share it.

Please only record what is genuinely useful for their care, and where they are able to understand and take part in that decision, please involve them.

5. If you invite family (Gadapa Together)

If you choose to create a circle and invite family, the care you log is sent to our servers so the people you invited can see it. We ask for your agreement before this begins and tell you what will be shared.

What is shared: the care logged, medicines, appointments, questions and the Handover sheet, along with the display name of each member. What is not shared: your voice notes and photos, which stay on the device that recorded them.

A circle is private and invite-only. Anyone in a circle can leave it at any time from the Circle screen.

6. What we never collect

We do not ask for or collect your location, your contacts, your phone number, your email address, Aadhaar or any government identifier, or any payment details. We do not use advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Gadapa does not connect to Health Connect, Google Fit, or any health platform.

7. Services we rely on

Purchases are handled by Google Play and by RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions for us. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase history. It never receives your care records, and it never receives your payment card details, which go only to Google.

If you use a circle, Google Firebase stores and delivers the shared records, and OneSignal delivers notifications to the other members. If the app crashes, we may receive a crash report containing device and error information, never your care records.

8. Your rights over your information

You can see everything Gadapa holds, because it is all in the app. You can export all of it as a file from Settings at any time. You can delete all of it from Settings, which removes it from your device and, if you are in a circle, from our servers.

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and under similar laws elsewhere, you may access, correct, and erase your information, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Write to gadapa.feedback@gmail.com and we will respond.

9. How long we keep things

On your phone, for as long as you keep the app installed. Uninstalling Gadapa removes the local database. If you use a circle, shared records stay on our servers until you delete them or leave the circle. If a subscription lapses, we stop syncing new records, but everything already on your device stays and remains readable and exportable. We do not hold your records hostage.

10. Children

Gadapa is intended for adults caring for an older adult. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

11. This is not medical care

Gadapa is a personal record-keeping app for families. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It does not provide medical advice. Reminders are a convenience and must not be relied on as the sole means of managing medication. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this screen shows when this version came into force.
