Abyssal Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 June 2026

In short: ABYSSAL has no accounts and no login. Your game progress and settings stay on your device. We do not collect or sell your personal information. The Game shows ads and offers in-app purchases through Google, which process limited data (such as an advertising identifier) to provide those services. Wherever local law requires it, you are asked for consent or given choices before personalised ads run.

1. Information we collect

Directly, through the Game: essentially none. ABYSSAL stores your progress, statistics, unlocked cosmetics, and settings locally on your device (via the operating system’s standard app storage). This data is not transmitted to us and we have no servers that receive it.

Through third-party services we integrate:

  • Google AdMob (ads): to serve and measure ads, Google may process a device advertising identifier, approximate location inferred from IP address, device and app information, and ad-interaction data. See "Advertising" below.
  • Google Play Billing (in-app purchases): when you buy something, Google processes the transaction. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase succeeded — never your full payment-card details.
  • Local notifications: if you opt in to reminders, they are scheduled and shown entirely on your device. No notification data leaves the device.

We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, we do not request location permissions, and we do not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos, or microphone.

2. How information is used

  • To save and restore your game progress and preferences on your device.
  • To display advertising that helps keep the Game free (via Google AdMob).
  • To process and restore in-app purchases (via Google Play Billing).
  • To deliver optional reminder notifications you have enabled.

3. Advertising & your choices

The Game uses Google AdMob to show ads (including a rewarded ad you may choose to watch to revive). Google may use a device advertising identifier and related signals to provide, personalise, and measure ads.

  • EEA / UK: before personalised ads are served, we present Google’s certified consent message (Google UMP). You can accept, decline, or choose "Manage options". Declining means you may see non-personalised ads instead.
  • US state privacy laws (e.g. California): where applicable, you are given the choice to limit the sale/sharing of personal information for personalised ads through the same in-app messaging.
  • Device controls: you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads), which limits ad personalisation across apps.

How Google uses data when you use our Game is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google’s own policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Your privacy rights by region

ABYSSAL is available worldwide. Depending on where you live you may have some or all of the following rights. Because we hold no personal data on our own servers, requests about ads or purchases are usually handled directly by Google; you can also use the device and consent controls above. To contact us, see the end of this policy.

  • European Economic Area & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR): rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to processing, and to data portability and withdrawing consent. The legal basis for personalised ads is your consent; running the Game and processing purchases rely on performing our agreement with you and our legitimate interests. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • United States (California CCPA/CPRA, plus Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other state laws): rights to know/access, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, but ad personalisation may be treated as a "sale"/"share" under some laws — opt out via the in-app consent message and your device ad settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
  • Canada (PIPEDA): rights to access your personal information and challenge its accuracy. Brazil (LGPD): confirmation, access, correction, anonymisation, deletion and portability. Australia (Privacy Act / APPs): access and correction.
  • All other countries and regions: we extend comparable baseline choices to everyone — local-only storage, an ad-consent message where required, device-level ad controls, and the ability to contact us. If your local law grants additional rights, we honour them.

5. Children's privacy

ABYSSAL is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age set by your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are configured accordingly. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Limited data is processed by the service providers named above (Google) solely to provide ads and purchases on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own policies. We may disclose information if required by law.

7. Data retention & deletion

Game data is stored on your device for as long as the Game is installed. You can clear it at any time by resetting progress in the Game (where offered), clearing the app’s storage in your device settings, or uninstalling the Game. Data processed by Google is retained per Google’s policies.

8. Security

Game data resides in your device’s protected app storage. Payment and ad data are handled by Google using their security measures. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we rely on the platform’s standard protections.

9. International transfers

The third-party services we use (Google) may process data in countries other than your own. Those transfers are governed by Google’s policies and applicable safeguards.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Game after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
